TESTS

AMBULATORY ECG MONITORING
Ambulatory ECG monitoring provides a recording of your heart’s electrical activity over a prolonged period of time. This can be done by using ‘holter monitoring’ or ‘event monitoring’.

AMBULATORY BLOOD PRESSURE MONITORING
Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring is a portable blood pressure machine that actively takes your blood pressure over a 24-hour period.

DEFIBRILLATOR TESTING (ICD)
An implantable cardio-defibrillator (ICD) is an electric device that prevents your heart from beating too quickly.
Download
ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY (ECHO)
Echocardiography is an ultrasound study of the heart muscle.
Download
ELECTROPHYSIOLOGICAL STUDY
Electrophysiology (EPS) studies the electrical activity of the heart in patients who have irregular heartbeats (arrhythmias).
Download
PACEMAKER TESTING
Pacemakers should be checked every 3 to 6 months, depending on type of pacemaker implanted.
Download
STRESS ECHO / DOBUTAMINE STRESS ECHO
Stress echocardiography assesses the likelihood that you have significant narrowing in your heart arteries by comparing the arteries before and after stress. A dobutamine stress echo is a combination of an echo test and a drug-induced stress test using the drug dobutamine.
Download
STRESS TEST (EXERCISE ECG)
Exercise stress testing is an exercise test used to assess the likelihood that there are blockages in your heart arteries.
Download
TRANSOESOPHAGEAL ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY (TOE)
Transoesophageal Echocardiography uses ultrasound to shows the size, shape and movement of the heart muscle.
Download
REMOTE CARDIAC RHYTHM DEVICE MONITORING SERVICE
TUsing new technology our remote monitoring service will enable us to check your implanted cardiac pacemaker or defibrillator from your home.

PROCEDURES

ABLATION
Ablate means "to destroy." Cardiac ablation is a procedure that is used to destroy small areas in your heart that may be causing your heart rhythm problems. Also see Catheter Ablation for Supraventricular Tachycardia.
Download
CARDIOVERSION
Cardioversion refers to the process of restoring the heart's normal heart rhythm from an abnormal rhythm.
Download
CORONARY ANGIOGRAPHY
Coronary angiography is used to find out whether the arteries that supply blood to your heart muscle have blockages or narrowing.
Download
CORONARY ANGIOPLASTY AND STENTING
Angioplasty uses a small balloon to unblock arteries or place Stents. . Also see Peripheral Vascular Angioplasty and Stenting and Renal Stenting
Download
DEFRIBRILLATOR IMPLANTS (ICD)
A defibrillator implant is the surgical placement of an electrical device called an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) in your chest or belly. An ICD is a treatment for life-threatening abnormal heartbeats (arrhythmias).
Download
LEFT ATRIAL APPENDAGE OCCLUDER DEVICE INSERTION
An occluding device is inserted into the heart to prevent blood clot formation in patients suffering from atrial fibrillation.
Download
PERMANENT PACEMAKER IMPLANTS
A pacemaker is an electronic device that prevents your heart from beating too slowly. Also see 'Cardiac Resynchronisation Therapy'
