Gerard returns from two years in the United States, where he completed two subspecialty Fellowships-  Interventional Vascular Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston, and Interventional Cardiology at Stony Brook University Hospital, New York. Prior to this, he graduated from the University of Queensland and completed specialty training in Cardiology at Princess Alexandra Hospital. His special interests include coronary artery disease, vascular medicine, peripheral artery disease and hypertension.

He provides consulting and interventional services at Greenslopes Private Hospital, and consulting at Sunnybank Private Hospital, Mater Hospital Bundaberg.
