Anders undertook his medical training at the University of Queensland and subsequently completed his advanced cardiology training at the Princess Alexandra Hospital and the Royal Brisbane Hospital. From 2003-2004, he completed an interventional fellowship at the Sunnybrook and Women’s Health Sciences Centre in Toronto, Canada, specialising in interventional cardiology.

His practice is primarily based at the Greenslopes Private Hospital, providing consulting and angioplasty services.
